Support and contact

One address, answered by a person. Below it, the answers to the things people most often need and the exact steps for the ones we cannot do on your behalf.

The short answer

Email support@workoutsamurai.com for help with Workout Samurai. A human reads every message. Subscription changes and refunds are handled by the App Store or Google Play rather than by us, because they process the payment. Account and data deletion can be requested in the app or by email.

How to reach us

Email support@workoutsamurai.com. That address covers everything: bugs, counting problems, billing questions, privacy and data requests, press, and corrections to anything on this site. There is no ticket portal and no phone queue. It is a small team and a real inbox.

If you are writing about a counting problem, it saves a round trip to include your device and OS version, roughly how the phone was positioned, and what the lighting was like. Those three things explain the large majority of missed reps.

The counter is missing or miscounting reps

Almost always framing or light rather than a bug. Work through these before writing in. The camera setup guide has the full version with a troubleshooting table.

  1. Stand the phone upright, facing you, roughly two to three feet away at about floor level. Flat on the floor does not work.
  2. Check the frame includes your head, both shoulders and both hands throughout the rep.
  3. Add light. Pose detection degrades in dim rooms before anything else does.
  4. Wear something that contrasts with the floor and is not especially baggy.
  5. Make sure only one person is in frame: the counter calibrates to one body per session.

Subscriptions, cancelling and refunds

Your subscription lives in your app store account, not in ours, so those actions have to happen there. We genuinely cannot cancel or refund on your behalf.

Where to do what

Account recovery

Accounts start anonymous and device-scoped. If you linked yours to Apple, Google or email, sign in on the new device and your progress follows you. If you never linked it and the app has been uninstalled or the device reset, that progress is tied to the old device and generally cannot be recovered. Linking on day one is worth the thirty seconds.

Deleting your account and your data

You can request deletion in the app, or by emailing support@workoutsamurai.com from, or referencing, the account you want removed. Deletion removes or anonymises your profile, gameplay, progression and pacing data. It is permanent: progress, records and rank cannot be restored afterwards.

Because camera frames are never stored, there is no imagery to delete. There never was any. The on-device rep counting page explains exactly what is and is not transmitted, and the privacy policy covers access, correction, portability and objection rights in full.

Reporting a problem with this website

If a figure in a guide is wrong, a standard is out of date, or a link is broken, tell us at support@workoutsamurai.com. Corrections to the standards and military tables are especially welcome. Those are the pages where being wrong matters most, and official standards change.

Frequently asked questions

How do I contact Workout Samurai support?

Email support@workoutsamurai.com. That single address covers bugs, counting problems, billing, privacy and data requests, and corrections to anything on this site. A person reads every message; there is no ticket portal.

How do I cancel my Workout Samurai subscription?

Through your app store account, not through us. On iOS: Settings, tap your name, Subscriptions. On Android: Play Store, your profile, Payments & subscriptions, Subscriptions. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.

How do I get a refund?

Request it from Apple or Google, since they processed the payment. We generally cannot issue refunds for app store transactions. Both stores have their own refund request flows and their own policies on what qualifies.

How do I delete my Workout Samurai account?

Request deletion in the app, or email support@workoutsamurai.com from or referencing the account you want removed. Deletion removes or anonymises your profile, gameplay, progression and pacing data, and it is permanent, progress and rank cannot be restored afterwards.

I lost my progress after reinstalling. Can I get it back?

If your account was linked to Apple, Google or email, sign in on the device and it will follow you. If it was never linked, the account was device-scoped and the progress generally cannot be recovered. Linking an account is the only protection against this.

Why is the app not counting my push-ups?

Almost always camera framing or lighting. Stand the phone upright two to three feet in front of you at floor level, make sure your head, shoulders and hands stay in frame, add light, and check that only one person is visible. The camera setup guide covers the rest.

How do I restore my purchase on a new phone?

Use Restore Purchases in the app after reinstalling or switching devices. Your entitlement is tied to your App Store or Google Play account, so restoring pulls it back without a second payment. If it does not appear, email support with your store receipt.

Does Workout Samurai have phone support?

No. Support is by email only, at support@workoutsamurai.com. It is a small team, and email is the honest answer rather than a phone number nobody answers.

How do I request a copy of my data?

Email support@workoutsamurai.com and say what you need. Access, correction, portability and deletion requests are all handled there, and the privacy policy sets out the rights available and the timeframes we work to.

How do I report a bug?

Email support with your device model, OS version, and what you were doing when it happened. For counting issues, add the phone position and the lighting, those two details resolve most reports without further back and forth.
